The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) continues to gather momentum in Gombe State as it recieved leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into its fold.
A former Special Adviser to former Governor of Gombe State, Haruna Shuaibu Jonga said they dumped PDP for NNPP due to political inconsistency, nepotism and lack of clear direction in their former party.
Others who joined the NNPP include the Financial Secretary of the PDP in Gombe LGA, Hon. Babalo Ahmed, Gombe LGA Public Relations Officer, Khalid Muazu Izala, and Herwagana Ward PRO Muhammad Barau.
Others include Ali Rabiu and Muhammad Chindo who were Special Assistant to ex-Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
Khalid Muazu Izala said they dumped PDP for NNPP to join forces with Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the state to bring about a positive change in the state.
He explained that they have been calling and drawing the attention of their former party leaders to abide by democratic tenets and spirit of national patriotism but they refused to listen to the advice.
Izala said NNPP has established a formidable structure in Gombe State with the capacity to clinch power from APC in the state by 2023.
