A traditional ruler in Gombe state, the Senior District Head of Malam Sidi in Kwami local government area, Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi, is dead.
A family source informed Daylight Reporters that the monarch died early hours of Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, after a protracted illness.
The late monarch, who was also the title holder of Ajiyan Gombe, was part of the King makers that see the emergence of late Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Shehu Usman Abubakar in 1983, and the present Emir, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III in 2014.
He was installed as the Senior District Head of Malam Sidi in 1970, when he was working with the then Gombe Local Education Authority as Head Master of Tudun Wada Primary School in Gombe.
Born in December 1925, late Ajiya died at the age of 97, leaving behind 3 wives, 28 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His funeral prayer will be conducted the Malam Sidi District Head Palace by 2pm.
