The immediate past Coordinator of National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) in Gombe State, Muhammad Bello Santuraki, has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Santuraki received his PDP membership card at the PDP Secretariat, Kumo, Akko LGA PDP. He was accompanied to the venue by thousands of his supporters amid solidarity songs on Saturday, 12th February.
Speaking during the event, Santuraki stated that he voluntarily resigned from the APC and the Inuwa-led government due to his dissatisfaction with some policies and actions of the government which, according to him, contravened the principle of democracy and they were anti-masses.
He added that that he chose the PDP because it remains the only viable option for the masses.
He promised to work so assiduously to ensure that the party win elections at all levels in 2023.
The PDP Chairman in Kumo centre and other leaders of the party, received the defectors and presented them with the party’s membership cards.
He called on the people of the state to cooperate with the party to defend democracy.
Santuraki participated in the primary elections for the House of Representatives, Akko Federal Constituency under APC in 2018, and in 2020.
He was appointed the Coordinator of NALDA project in Gombe state by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
