Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has sacked all media aides attached to his Deputy Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olabode Olatunde, on Tuesday.
The statement reads,“All media aides appointed by the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, and seconded to the office of the deputy Governor, have been relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.
“Similarly, the Press Crew attached to the office of the deputy governor has been disbanded.
“Consequently, all members of the Press Crew are to report back to their various ministries and stations”.
According to the statement, the affected aides include; the Press Secretary to the Governor, Kenneth Odusola; Special Assistant to Governor (New Media), Oladipupo Okunniga; and Special Assistant to the Governor (Photography) Samson Abayomi Adefolalu.
The Ministry of Information and Orientation has been directed to provide adequate coverage for the activities of the deputy’s governor office henceforth.
It could be recalled that, the Governor has gone on a medical leave in Germany for three months.
His Deputy has been acting as the governor until his return on Thursday.
He has reportedly been at loggerheads with some of the governor’s loyalists over some policies and decisions he took while the governor was away.
The Deputy Governor was also reportedly poised to take over from Akeredolu after the completion of his second term.
Many believed that, the Governor took the decision over the seeming political crisis involving his camp and that of his Deputy which may likely escalate in the coming days.
