Bendel Insurance Urged To Focus On Future Matches
By Osehobo Ofure, Benin-City
The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has urged Bendel Insurance FC to move past their 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars and focus on their next game against Enyimba FC on Wednesday.
The match is part of the rescheduled Matchday 20 fixtures in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
In a statement by his Media Adviser, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele acknowledged the disappointment of Saturday’s loss at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, where Godwin Odibo scored the only goal in the 81st minute. He, however, stressed the need for resilience and professionalism, urging the team to turn the setback into motivation for victory.
“I was confident we could get at least a point in Ibadan, but now, we must focus on the next game. Let’s bounce back with a strong home win against Enyimba,” he said.
Bendel Insurance previously defeated Enyimba 1-0 in their first-round encounter in Benin. They will now host the People’s Elephant at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday at 4 PM. The team will also face Niger Tornadoes at home on Saturday.
Currently, Bendel Insurance sits 16th on the NPFL table with 25 points from 22 matches. A win against Enyimba is crucial to improving their standings.
