By George Coben, Bauchi
Vice Chancellor of the Bauchi State-owned Sa’adu Zungur University, (SAZU), Bauchi, Professor Fatima Tahir, has expressed gratitude to the state government for increasing its monthly allocation and subvention.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Hassan and made available to newsmen.
Professor Fatima described the gesture as a remarkable effort by the administration towards improving the standard of the University, in line with the Governor’s vision of improving the standard and quality of education in the state.
She said the management and the entire University community are optimistic that this giant stride would go a long way in addressing most, if not all the challenges faced by the Institution, particularly in the area of teaching and learning.
The Vice Chancellor commended the Governor for understanding the numerous challenges facing the University, particularly that of funding which slows down its ability to compete with its counterparts in other states of the country.
Professor Fatima assured judicious application of the grants to provide quality teaching, and efficient research in the University to assist in actualizing the Governor’s quest to take the state to greater heights.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor applauded the Governor for the construction of five major access roads within Gadau, the main campus of the University.
