Bauchi Seeks Stronger Economic Ties With Portugal

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has restated his administration’s commitment to fostering economic ties with Portugal.
The Governor stated this when he received the Portuguese Ambassador to Nigeria, Santos Martins Paulo, at the Government house, Bauchi.
Discussions during the visit centered on potential investment opportunities, with special focus on Oil and Gas, Tourism, Mineral resources, and construction.
Senator Mohammed assured the Ambassador that Bauchi is open for business and ready to welcome investors, highlighting the state’s rich opportunities in tourism, agriculture, health, education, and energy, urging Portugal to consider strategic investments in these sectors.
He also revealed plans for an upcoming Bauchi State Investment Summit, designed to attract Foreign investors.
“I am inviting the Portuguese Government and Business community to take full advantage of the platform to explore viable investment prospects,” he added.
On his own part, the Portuguese Ambassador to Nigeria, Santos Martins Paulo, emphasized Portugal’s longstanding relationship with Nigeria in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, commerce, industry, and agriculture.
He expressed his country’s willingness to collaborate with Bauchi State, noting that Governor Mohammed’s interest in partnership aligns with Portugal’s investment outlook.
“We see great potential for cooperation in various areas, and we appreciate the warm reception extended to us. Portugal is ready to explore, and strengthen economic ties with Bauchi State,” the envoy stated.
