The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by Commissioner of Police, CP, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu as its 46th helmsman.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, CP Aliyu officially took over leadership of the command, succeeding Mr Auwal Musa Muhammad who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, ASP, and reassigned to Zone 3, Yola.
Upon assuming office, CP Aliyu expressed gratitude to the IGP Mr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for the trust and confidence reposed in him, affirming his unwavering commitment to serving with professionalism towards ensuring the security and safety of the state.
Born on 13th February, 1969, in Okene LGA of Kogi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu is a seasoned law enforcement officer with over 3 decades of distinguished service in the NPF.
He was enlisted as a Cadet ASP on 10th June, 1994 and holds a BA degree in Theatre Arts.
The CP has held several strategic positions across various states and zonal commands at Katsina, Edo, Kaduna, Nasarawa, FCT, and also in Bauchi as Area commander, Bauchi Metropolis, just as he served in Gombe state command as DCP state criminal investigation department, SCID.
CP Aliyu who has undergone extensive professional training: junior Command course, tactical leadership and command course and senior executive course at the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Plateau state, is a devoted family man with many children.
Meanwhile, the new CP Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu has hit the ground running by ordering comprehensive security measures in collaboration with other stakeholders towards ensuring a conducive environment for prayer and successful Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
“The command has established security protocols, including the deployment of multi-uniformed personnel for intelligence gathering, with the officers expected to report to the Command’s control room to preemptively address any potential threats to peace and security both before and during the festive period.
“CP Aliyu has directed all Area, Tactical commander’s and DPOs to intensify visibility patrols in areas identified as black spots or flashpoints within their areas of responsibility,” the statement said.
While urging citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police stations, Mr Aliyu warned that any disruptive tendencies from any quarters would be visited with the appropriate law enforcement measures.
