The Bauchi state governor,  Bala Mohammed, has called on members of the Federal Government Committee on Public Works  to ensure justice, equity and fairness in their activities.
Mohammed made the call in Bauchi on Thursday when members of the committee in incharge of the state, paid him a courtesy call to brief him on their activities.
He commended the Federal Government for initiating the programme, which he said, would reduce poverty, indolence, redundancy and restiveness among  youths and adults.
He described the idea of public works as timely, especially at this critical time when poverty had permeated the society and restiveness had become a recurring decimal.
He added that the programme would enable citizens to realized their potentialities and actualise their dreams, assuring that the state government would do everything possible to ensure the success of the programme.
Earlier in his remarks ,Alhaji Sunusi Konde, chairman of the committee assured the governor that his committee would ensure transparency and equity in the discharge of its duty.
He said the committee had earmarked some slots for all political office holders, traditional rulers, women groups, civil society organizations, political appointees, youth groups and religious organizations.
He said the committee, which would commence work on Tuesday, had engaged the services of no fewer than  200 graduates that would conduct an implementation survey across the 20 local government areas in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that no fewer than 20,000 persons were expected to benefit from the programme in Bauchi as 1,000 people per each local government would be engaged
