The Presidential flagbearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has donated N50 million to victims of flood in Jigawa State.
He made the donation when he visited Hadejia to sympathise with the flood victim who lost their farmlands, produce and other properties in the flood that devastated the state leading to lost of lives and properties.
Atiku who came to the state through Dutse domestic airport port around 3:00pm and later moved to Hadejia Emir’s palace.
He was received in Hadejia town by thousands of PDP supporters.
The PDP Presidential candidate announced the donation saying that, he donated the money through the Emir of Hadejia to ease their sufferings brought by the flood.
He further informed that, the aims of his visit was to show his concern over what has happened to the people during the flood in which many people lost their farmlands, relatives and other properties.
Responding, the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje said the donation given to the Emirate will be disbursed to the people affected in all the 27 local government areas of the state.
The Emir, who is also the chairman Jigawa State council of chiefs added that the money will be shared according the numbers of victims in all the affected areas in the state.
He promised to ensure equity as well as Justice and fairness in the distribution of the donation to the effected victims.
He commended the PDP Presidential candidate for the concern accorded to Hadejia flood victim and assured him of support and cooperation.
