The Nigerian Army 6 brigade in Taraba State on Saturday conducted the investiture of 2 newly promoted lieutenants with their new ranks of Captain.
The newly promoted soldiers are the pioneer brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Oni Olubodunde and the pioneer finance officer, Chinedu Nsiegbbunam.
During the decoration exercise which took place at Dutchess hotel in Jalingo the Taraba State capital, the state governor, Agbu Kefas said that the promotion was a testament to their courage, dedication to duty and hard work, noting that their diligence to duty, professional conduct and sacrifices earned them their elevation.
The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Nicholas Oliver, said “Your promotion is a testament to your many years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our great nation. As a Nigerian, I know first hand the sacrifices that come with attaining this height. It takes a lot of courage, discipline, and resilience to rise through the ranks.
While acknowledging the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army personnel in the fight against insecurity, the governor congratulated them on their elevation and charged them to redouble their efforts towards ending security challenges bedevilling the country.
Speaking the Brigade Commander of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, (OPWS) Kingsley Uwa, urged the newly promoted soldiers to beware of slippery banana peels they are likely to meet during the course of moving up in their career.
“The two promoted soldiers have been very hardworking, and have assisted me since my assumption as the Brigade Commander to achieve my vision and mission to the Brigade.
“So I urge you to beware of slippery banana peels in the course of executing your newly assigned responsibilities,” he said.
