Armed men have abducted a housewife and two male adults at Anguwar Juma’a in Suleja, Niger State.
Anguwar Juma’a is said to be few meters away from the palace of the Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Awwal Ibrahim.
A resident of the area, simply identified as Shuaibu, said the incident happened around 12:45 am on Thursday,
He said the armed men, who came in their large numbers wielding AK-47 rifles, positioned themselves at strategic places shooting sporadically into the air to scare the people.
He said the kidnappers invaded a house in the area and abducted a housewife and two men at gunpoint.
“Two other persons who attempted to escape because of the gunshots were hit by the kidnappers’ bullets and were later taken to Suleja General Hospital,” he said.
Other sources that spoke to City News on the incident said the housewife was released by the kidnappers after she collapsed in the bush.
“She was found and taken back to Unguwar Juma’a where she was abducted from, by a team of joint security operatives and vigilantes that was on the trail of the gunmen in the night.
“They however fled with the two other victims,’’ the source said,
The Suleja B Divisional Police Officer, SP Murtala Mustapha, could not be reached to confirm the incident.
