The All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration remains committed to executing people-oriented projects to improve the lives of the people.
Gov. Nasir Idris stated this on Wednesday during the Zonal Campaign Rally in Zuru in preparation for the upcoming local government elections in the State.
The campaign rally in the Zuru Emirate, comprised Zuru, Fakai, Sakaba, and Danko Wasagu Local Government Areas.
While addressing the large crowd of APC supporters at the campaign venue in Zuru, Gov. Idris expressed his gratitude for their support.
He highlighted the numerous projects his administration had undertaken in education, health, agriculture, empowerment, and roads construction, among others.
The Governor emphasized that the achievements recorded within the first year of his administration would be consolidated and further improved.
He remarked, “This administration has done a lot in education with the construction of new schools, the renovation of existing ones, the recruitment of over 2,000 teachers, and the distribution of free fertilizers and water pumps to farmers.”
Gov. Idris also assured the people of the area that the dilapidated Koko-Zuru road would soon be reconstructed and that a skills acquisition center was under construction in Zuru to benefit the youths in the area.
The Governor was represented at the event by his Deputy, Sen. Umar Abubakar Tafida.
Earlier, the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, along with the State Deputy Governor and the APC State Campaign Director-General, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, received thousands of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).
The defectors, including Alhaji Muhammad Barau from the PDP and Yohana Yahi, Chairman of the LP, stated that that they abandoned their former parties because of the developmental projects undertaken by Gov. Idris.
In his brief remarks, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, the former Governor of Kebbi State and the APC State Campaign Director-General, commended Idris for fulfilling most of his campaign promises.
He noted that the large number of defectors joining the APC signaled a strong victory for the party.
Gen. Muhammadu Magoro, retired, a prominent APC stalwart, reminded all the APC candidates of the significant task ahead of them to ensure victory and deliver.
Other politicians who spoke at the event included Hon. Garba Bena, Hon. Kabiru Tukura, and Hon. Kabiru Abubakar Alaramma.
They urged the people of the area to massively vote for APC candidates to continue the good work initiated by Gov. Nasir Idris.
The APC campaign team earlier paid homage to the Emir of Zuru in his palace ,Alhaji Sani Sami,Gomo II , to seek for his blessings.
The Emir prayed for the successful conduct of the elections and extolled the developmental strides of the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu
