The National Headquarters of All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the purported expulsion of Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje from the party by the Gombe State chapter of the party.
The party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka on Thursday voided the expulsion by directing that it be put on hold pending further review.
The directive reads in parts, “The attention of the National Headquarters of All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to media reports of the purported expulsion of His Excellency, Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje by the Gombe State Executive Committee of our Party.
“The Party has directed that the said expulsion and all related actions in the matter be, and are hereby, set aside pending further review and decision of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on the matter. Therefore, Senator Goje is, and remains, a bonafide member of the Gombe State Chapter of our Party”.
It could be recalled that, the state chapter of the party reportedly expelled Goje and other members over alleged anti-party activities.
The expulsion which was allegedly engineered by Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya was carried out to witchunt the Senator.
Goje had earlier suffered physical and other attacks by suspected hoodlums and hirelings allegedly being sponsored by the governor and some of his associates.
Goje, a former governor and now a serving Senator had been at loggerheads with the state governor who was once a commissioner in his administration.
