The second private radio station in Bauchi state ‘Albarka Radio’ has celebrated its three years anniversary with a promise to carry listeners along via participatory programs.
General Manager of the station Alhaji Dauda Ciroma in an interview with our correspondent explained that the station was established in November 2017 as the second privately owned media house in the state.
He said the media house’s mission is to add value to people’s lives and to tell the stories the way they are without prejudice.
“We are happy with what we do and it is left for people out there to judge. From our feedback, we look at people’s criticism, if it’s ethical, we stay on cause. We always try to improve our services.
“It is a radio house that says exactly what it is. All the stories we carry are factual and true stories.
“The radio station is participatory in the sense that we want to get people talking and have people voicing out their opinion. We bring burning issues so that people will participate in these programs and talk.
“Such programs include ‘Gatarin gwari, Albarka forum, political diary, ‘Idon makwarwa. All these are live programs talking on different issues”. He explained.
He said by January 2021, the station intends to post its correspondents to all the 20 local governments of the state where they will stay permanently and send reports in time under a program to be called ‘Mu leka mu gani’.
He called on government’s ministries, departments and agencies to patronize the station and be paying retainership to it so the radio could sustain.
