Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio Set To Install Obong Okon As New Ntisong IV

Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, a foremost socio- cultural organization in Akwa Ibom State will formally install its fourth Ntisong, Obong Pius Okon IV.
One of the organizers and member of the planning committee, Dr. Udeme Nnana announced this at a press conference in Uyo.
He said, the event will be hosted at Asan Ibibio located in Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo Local Government Area of the State on Friday February 28, 2025 by 10am prompt.
Okon, a prominent member of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, when installed as the fourth Ntisong Ibibio IV, will succeed Obong Essien Ekidem, an engineer by profession will also mark the 44th Anniversary of the socio – cultural organization, that will also send-forth the outgoing Ntisong III officially.
Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio is a revered group in Nigeria that promotes and preserves the rich cultural heritage of the Ibibio people.
The Ntisong-Designate, is a prominent figure in Esop. Prior to his elevation, had been involved in various cultural activities, events, and initiatives that showcase Ibibio traditions and customs to the outside world.
The organization at a press conference announced that the event will be three-folds celebration of unity, continuity, and cultural pride; with a resounding call for all Ibibio sons and daughters to reconnect with their heritage.
According to them, “Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio remains the pre-eminent socio-cultural organization representing the Ibibio people across Nigeria and beyond. Our doors are always open to every Ibibio son and daughter, fostering a profound sense of identity, purpose, and communal responsibility.
The group commended the contributions of the media in highlighting its milestone over the years stating that, the partnership enriches the collective consciousness and fortify the existing unity.
They also praised Governor Umo Eno, for his unwavering commitment to peace and governance in Akwa Ibom State, declaring it’s support for his administration.
“We stand as partners in your vision to sustain peace, foster development, and secure a prosperous future for our children and generations yet unborn,” it said.
