Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, on Thursday, flagged off his re-election campaign at Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of the state.
Abiodun, who was supported by an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, former state deputy governors, Sen. Adegbenga Kaka, Alhaja Salmot Badru and Chief Segun Adesegun, promised more development projects for people of the state.
The governor, while addressing thousands of APC members at the campaign ground in Imeko-Afon, assured of his administration’s readiness to reconstruct Abeokuta-Afon road.
“We will commence the reconstruction of Abeokuta-Afon road before the end of the election to boost the socio-economic development of this area.
“We reconstructed Oke-Ola road, here in Imeko-Afon, within stipulated period. We have been doing our projects without making noise and we will not stop doing things that will make our people happy,” he said.
Abiodun canvassed for votes for all APC candidates in the state, including its presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu.
He further promised that a School of Agriculture and Technical College would be established by his administration within the council area.
“We have constructed, at least, one road per local government since we came into power. The last time we witnessed such was during the administration of Chief Olusegun Osoba.
“We will not relent in doing more for our people in the state. I, therefore, urge you to go and collect your permanent voter cards (PVCs) to enable you participate in the elections.
“The deadline for collection is Jan. 15. Please, encourage one another to participate actively in the electoral process to ensure continuity,” he said.
In his remarks, Osoba recalled his administration’s contributions to the development of Imeko-Afon council area, asking the electorate to vote for Abiodun and other APC candidates.
