Jigawa Authorities Announce 200% Increase In Tax Revenue

Jigawa state Revenue Services has witness an increase in revenue generation by 200 per cent, the Executive Chairman, Dr Nuhu Sabo Idris, has disclosed while briefing the press in his office in Dutse.
“In 2023, we collected N16b as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). However with the reforms we have introduced, our collections was increase from N16 billion to N51 billion by the end of 2024, representing an increase of 200 per cent revenue generation in the state,” the service’s boss said.
Idris who attributed their success to the various number of reforms introduced to better the services of both tax collections and generation aimed to enhance smooth operational services.
“When we came on board about two years now, we were able to transform the operational services of the state taxes from manual tax collections system to electronic collections system through the introduction of certain strategies and innovations, as well the introduction of new departments such as the tax audit and investigations, MDA’s monitoring department among others, all aimed to enhance smooth operational services”
“Other methods adopted included, periodical in-house training, monitoring and evaluations amongst our staffers as well as constant monitoring and coordination of tax collections and generation to ensure effective service delivery,” he noted.
He solicits hard work, and punctuality to duty with all the staff of the Revenue Services Department for efficiency and improved service delivery, adding that “We expect prompt tax payments from our various client’s, the workers , MDAs, and companies for the state government to offer us good services.”.
