Atiku Visits Former Boss Obasanjo At Abeokuta

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Atiku was Obasanjo’s Vice President from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007.
Atiku was accompanied on the visit by former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, former Sokoto State Governor and former Speaker, House of Representatives, Senator Aminu Tambuwal and Senator Abdul Ningi.
The reason for the visit was not made known by political watchers say it not unconnected with palpitations towards 2027 elections.
There have been calls for alliances and reconciliations by the opposition parties towards the 2027 presidential election to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
Atiku has contested for the presidency of Nigeria six times. These are in 1993 primaries under Social Democratic Party (SDP) but lost to Moshood Abiola, in 2007, as Action Congress (AC) the candidate but lost to Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, in 2011, he sought the PDP ticket but lost to Goodluck Jonathan in the primaries, in 2015, he lost in the APC primaries to Muhammadu Buhari, in 2019, contested under the PDP candidate but lost to Muhammadu Buhari and contested in 2023 under the PDP but lost to Bola Tinubu.
