Onojie Of Udo-Eguare Regains Freedom After Four Days In Captivity

The traditional ruler of Udo-Eguare in Igueben Local Government Area, Edo State, has regained his freedom after spending four days in the hands of kidnappers.
The Edo State Police Command confirmed that the monarch, who was abducted on February 3, 2024, was rescued on the evening of February 7 following an intensive search operation.
The rescue mission was carried out under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin.
CP Otimenyin commended all those involved in the operation, particularly acknowledging the logistical support provided by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
She also praised local vigilantes, hunters, and community members for their role in the successful rescue.
In a statement, the Edo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling crime and ensuring the safety of all residents.
“We remain resolute in our efforts to safeguard the people of Edo,” CP Otimenyin stated.
