Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa, have inspected ongoing repairs on the Benin-Sapele-Warri road.
Accompanied by the contractors, Levant Nigeria, they commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing the rehabilitation of failed portions of the road.
Speaking after the inspection of over 30km stretch of the road Governor Okpebholo praised the president’s leadership and commitment to infrastructural development.
“This is our president in action. Work is progressing rapidly, and Edo people, as well as motorists, will soon enjoy a fully rehabilitated road. Edo is now developing like Lagos,” he said.
Okpebholo also expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for ensuring Edo residents benefit from democratic dividends.
He assured the public of his administration’s commitment to monitoring the project’s progress and ensuring its timely completion.
“I am pleased with the level of work so far. We will keep coming here to oversee the progress. The president is capable, and I trust he will continue funding this project until it is completed,” he added.
The governor emphasized that infrastructure remains a priority for his administration, as good roads enhance economic activities and improve the quality of life for Edo residents.
Levent Contractors, handling section one of the project, assured that the repairs focus on critical areas to ensure the road remains motorable. They revealed that they are employing continuous concrete rigid pavement technology, which guarantees durability for up to 50 years.
