Edo To Investigate Teacher Over Rape Of Students

A controversial viral video of a teacher accused of raping students at the Federal Government Girls College, Benin City has caught the attention of the State government.
The teacher (names withheld) according to the Edo State Education Commissioner, Dr Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu will be made to face the music if found culpable of molesting the students.
Iyamu said the Edo State Government was concerned about the incident because through a federal government institution, the school besides being located in the state has its majority students from the state.
“The welfare and safety of all the students in that school remain a top priority. Yes the school is a federal government institution, but the girl child is a Nigerian child from Edo,” the Commissioner said.
He said the investigation team’s findings will inform necessary actions to ensure that justice is served to prevent such incidents in the future.
