Gombe University Attests 56 New Medical Doctors

The College of Medical Sciences of Gombe State University (GSU) has attested its newly graduated medical doctors, making them the fifth set produced by the institution.
Speaking at the attestation ceremony held on Tuesday at the college, the Provost of the medical sciences college, Professor Muhammad Manga, explained that 56 medical doctors have been produced and attested by the college this year. He added that a total of 185 doctors were graduated by the school in the last five years.
The provost urged the new doctors to be good ambassadors of the university, the state and their parents by being ethical, professional and avoiding gratification.
In his remarks, the Secretary to Gombe State Government, Professor Abubakar Njodi, who served as chairman of the occasion, tasked the newly certified medical doctors to prioritise their home state and county in rendering their services not to move abroad for monetary gains.
According to him, the state government, their lecturers and parents have sacrificed a lot in making the new doctors what they are, asking them to reciprocate by diligently serving the state’s residents and other Nigerians.
While the Registrar Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr Fatima Kyari, represented by Dr Tijjani Ali who administered oath of allegiance to the newly inducted doctors, commended the Gombe State University Management for providing the students with conducive learning environment that made their graduation a successful one.
The council charged them to prioritise humanity over personal gains in the discharge of their services and treat all patients with respect and care.
