You haven’t Lived Up to Expectations – Former Aide Blasts Governor Inuwa

A strong supporter of Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Khalil Ahmed Nafada, has expressed disappointment over his performance stating the governor has not met expectations.
Nafada, who spoke in an interview with local online news platform, accused the Governor of wasting billions of Naira in building a Government House, leaving the people in abject poverty and insecurity.
Nafada, who served as Senior Special Assistant in Governor Yahaya’s first tenure, further lamented the governors are more concerned with awarding contracts that will earn them kickbacks than doing what will benefit the people.
“Building a luxurious government house is not what the common man needs at this critical time. Unfortunately, these governors focused only on what will benefit them personally. Their concern is which contract will earn them multiple millions of Naira as percentage.
“They are not concerned with the poverty and insecurity bedevelling the common man. Did they talk when the fuel subsidy was removed? While it was the subsidy removal that throws the common man in hardship, but they kept mute because it wouldn’t affect them. But you can hear them now rising voices on the issue of this revenue (tax reform bill),” he lamented.
Nafada recalled with sadness how he struggled to see the success of Governor Inuwa in 2019 election, but he was dumped and maltreated by the governor.
“You know how we struggled and suffered a lot to see the success of this man (governor Yahaha). I lost my mum as a result of this struggle. But what follows? At a point in time, this man sent some personnel to Kano and arrested me and brought me back to Gombe handcuffed,” he noted.
