Federal Polytechnic, Wannune Governing Council Visits Jemgbagh Traditional Council

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, led by its Chairman, Chief Michael Msuaan, has paid a courtesy visit to the Jemgbagh Traditional Council at the Palace of the Tor Jemgbagh in Gboko.
This visit formed part of the activities marking the conclusion of the council’s second regular meeting and aimed at strengthening ties with traditional institutions in the region for the progress of the institution.
Chief Msuaan, accompanied by the Rector, Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, other members of the council and management staff of the Polytechnic, met with the royal fathers from the Jemgbagh axis including, the Tor Jemgbagh, HRH David Afaityo; the Ter Gboko, HRH Gabriel Shosuun; the Ter Buruku, HRH Ihomver Hanior; and the Ter Mbakor, HRH Gandeorun Orakaa.
During the interaction, Chief Msuaan underscored the importance of collaboration between the Polytechnic and traditional institutions, describing royal fathers as vital custodians of culture, and values.
He informed the royal fathers that the governing board was in the palace as partners in progress, united by a shared vision to uplift the community through education and collaboration.
He stated that the Polytechnic is not just an institution of learning but a vital component of the socio-economic fabric of the community, hence there is every need for a robust synergy between the school and the community.
He assured them of the governing council’s dedication to foster an environment of academic excellence while urging their continued support, in terms of security within the school and the surrounding areas and encouraging parents and guardians to prioritize the education of their children.
Chief Msuaan also called for prayers and support for Senator Dr. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, highlighting his genuine efforts to bring development to the state.
Earlier, the Rector, Dr. Dajoh, reiterated the institution’s commitment to ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere and maintaining high educational standards.
He acknowledged the critical role of traditional institutions in the Polytechnic’s success, stating that such partnerships would further enhance the school’s standing and benefit the wider community.
In response, the traditional leaders pledged their unwavering support for the Polytechnic, urging all Benue indigenes to safeguard the institution and contribute positively to its growth.
They commended the council’s proactive efforts in aligning with cultural values to drive development.
The visit had key members of the Polytechnic’s management, including the Deputy Rector, Dr. Ngurumun Iorchir; the Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Ndahs; the Bursar, Mr. Eworo; and other academic staff of the polytechnic.
