The Village Head of Sabon Birnin Daji in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Marafa Yakubu, has refuted claims by Hamdiyyaa Sidi of being an indigene of the area.
He said he neither knows her grandfather nor any of her family members in the area.
The Village Head called for legal action against Hamdiyya for creating tension among his people by inciting them to break the law and dissent.
He also thanked Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the proactive measures put in place to guarantee the safety of lives and property of people in the area.
Hamdiyyaa’s claimed to be a humanitarian worker to assist women in area was false.
However, women of Sabon Birnin Daji have revealed that Hamdiyyaa, who claimed to be a humanitarian worker had asked them to revolt against the government and take over government quarters being constructed in Wamakko Local Government Area.
According to some of them who attended the gathering organised by Hamdiyya with a view to benefiting from her so-called humanitarian aid, said in a viral video that she deceived them by telling them she was going to give them some food assistance in order to help them reduce their hardship.
According to Hawwa’u, Jamila Sa’ adu, Umaima and Hadiza, who were among those invited by Hamdiyya Sidi, said she came to them and pretented to be an aid worker coming to give them food assistance being among the internally displaced persons in Wurno Local Government Area.
“Instead of her to distribute food for us, Hamdiyya brought out her cell phone and started recording, insulting our Governor using harsh and abusive words on him, and also incited us to go and break government houses in Wamakko Local Govenrment Area and take them over.
“She also brought us from our matrimonial houses against the wish of our husbands in the name of giving us food assistance, but later ended up deceiving us, and cheated on us.
“We want the authorities concerned to help us in the fight for our rights which were infringed upon by Hamdiyya Sidi by bringing us out of houses and using our pictures for her ulterior motive.
“She lied to us that she was going to give us some food being us displaced persons but at the end, we dispersed empty handed without anything from Hamdiyya,” they averred.
The women commended Governor Aliyu’s administration for giving security much attention in their area, a situation that had given their husbands the opportunity to undertake farming activities during last cropping season.
Also speaking in the same viral video, the Chief Iman of the village, Imam Malam Umar, said the people of Sabon Birnin Daji now enjoy peace as they sleep with their two eyes closed unlike what was obtained during the immediate past administration.
He commended Governor Aliyu for the food assistance and attention given to the internally displaced persons in the state.
