Group Condemns Suspension Of FCDA Executive Director By Minister

A pressure group, North East Consultative Cooperatives Forum, has condemned the suspension of the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Shehu Hadi, by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Chairman of the forum, Barrister Abdullahi Jalo, made the condemnation during a press conference in Gombe.
He described Hadi’s suspension as both illegal and unacceptable, particularly for the people of the north-east where the suspended Executive Secretary hails from.
He alleged that since assuming his role as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wike has been systematically removing northerners from key positions and replacing them with individuals from his own region.
Jalo urged concerned Nigerians and the Presidency in particular to intervene and call Wike to order “before he causes further harm to the ruling APC government”.
He praised Hadi as a dedicated and hardworking individual, asserting that his suspension was unwarranted.
“Minister Wike also suspended Dr Ahmed from Taraba State along with Shehu Hadi from Gombe State. This forum cannot tolerate such witch-hunting of our people.
“I urge all people of the north-east region to stand united and resist any form of discrimination or marginalisation in the country,” he advised.
The forum called for the immediate reinstatement of Shehu Hadi as the Executive Secretary of FCDA, and an end of “discriminatory actions of the FCT, Minister”.
He equally warned that, if such an actions continue, it could lead to further unrest and division within the country.
