A Tale of Desperation: PDP`s Flawed Attempt to Mislead Kebbi State
By Mal Sidi
The recent press statement issued by the PDP Kebbi State Chapter concerning the alleged misappropriation of orphan funds is nothing short of a desperate political gimmick, designed to not only mislead the public but tarnish the image of the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris.
This release reflects a glaring attempt by the PDP to remain relevant in Kebbi’s political landscape, despite its evident loss of focus and purpose.
It is important to highlight that Governor Nasir has consistently demonstrated exceptional courage and an unwavering commitment to accountability.
Unlike any other administration, this government has remained free from the taint of impunity.
It operates with an open-door policy, allowing citizens to provide feedback, make observations, and hold the government accountable.
Governor Nasir has not hesitated to take bold measures against any form of misconduct, corruption, or indiscipline.
His decision to constitute the Sani Aliyu-led Committee to investigate the orphan funds issue is not an isolated act but part of a broader strategy to uphold transparency and protect public resources.
The PDP’s baseless claims that the findings of this Committee will be swept under the carpet are both illogical and unfounded.
This administration has a proven track record of addressing allegations of corruption head-on, taking decisive action irrespective of the status or influence of the individuals involved.
It has demonstrated that leadership entails responsibility and accountability, ensuring that Kebbi State remains on the path of progress and not in disarray.
It is also worth noting that the choice of Alh. Sani Dododo as the Kebbi-PDP’s spokesperson is a testament to the party’s dilutional state.
His emergence as their mouthpiece only underscores the party’s disorganization and lack of credible leadership. Dododo’s penchant for mischievous and baseless rhetoric is indicative of a party that has completely lost its focus and direction, resorting to spreading misinformation in a bid to remain in the public glare.
Furthermore, it is ironic and hypocritical for the PDP to question the transparency of a government that has taken proactive steps to recover stolen funds, while the party itself failed to act on numerous instances of mismanagement during its time in power.
The public deserves to know that this administration has been working tirelessly to ensure that every stolen naira is recovered and returned to its rightful owners—the orphans.
The Kebbi State Government is committed to ensuring that justice is served. The findings of the Sani Aliyu Committee will be made public in due course, in line with due process and transparency.
The government will not be distracted by the PDP’s baseless accusations and attempts to politicize a sensitive issue for cheap political points. We urge the PDP to abandon its mischievous antics and focus on constructive engagement.
The people of Kebbi State deserve better than a party that has continually demonstrated its inability to provide meaningful opposition. Governor Nasir’s administration remains steadfast in its mission to deliver good governance and protect the interests of all Kebbi citizens, especially the most vulnerable.
