Amidst Hardship, Gara Gombe Provides Succour for Gombe Law Students with N2m
The Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of African Network Center and Chairman of Gombe Athletics Association, Alhaji Ahmed Shu’aibu Gara Gombe, has supported students of Gombe State origin studying in law schools across the geopolitical zones of Nigeria with over N2 million.
The palliative is meant to alleviate hardship for the student populace amidst rising fuel prices, targeting 80 students approved by the Council of Legal Education.
Alhaji Gombe’s philanthropy has touched several strata of society over the years haven previously made a statement with regards to the law students in question, soliciting for help on their behalf over the living cost and other educational expenses at the campuses.
Acknowledging receipt of the payment, Ibrahim Dauda Adamu, one of the beneficiaries who doubles as the coordinator, Gombe State Law Students’ Association, expressed gratitude to Alhaji Gombe for his benevolence.
”Let me bring it to public notice that Alhaji Ahmed Shu’aibu Gara Gombe has been helpful to us in this journey. Apart from the call he made to the government for support on our part, he played a role in the establishment of Gombe State Law Students Association under which the palliative will be distributed,” he said.
In a statement to the press, Alhaji Gombe restated his commitment to the cause of education and called on other privileged members of society to emulate his action.
”The need for this palliative is borne out of my commitment to education. The N25,000 each may not cover every cost of living for the students, yet I believe will serve as a motivation and a sign that there are people who appreciate them for being good ambassadors of Gombe State at the respective campuses of the Nigerian Law School. I may not be the richest nor the most privileged individual in Gombe, but as humans we should develop the spirit of giving from whatever we have.
“My life philosophy has been guided by such belief, prompting other gestures in the past including scholarships at different levels of study. I hereby call on other stakeholders to emulate this modest gesture for the development of not only Gombe state, but Nigeria at large,”Alhaji Gombe noted.
