COAS Lagbaja’s Death Huge Loss to Armed Forces, Nigeria, Family – Speaker Abbas, Deputy Kalu

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen and his Deputy, Benjamin Okezie Kalu have described the death of late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, as a huge loss to the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria and his family.
They stated this in separate condolence messages signed by their media aides on Wednesday.
The Speaker, in his condolences message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described late Lagbaja as a gallant military officer who recorded achievements in a short period as the COAS.
According to him, after becoming the COAS, late Lagbaja, went round military bases across the country, especially in the North-East and North-West, to motivate soldiers at the battlefields which exemplified his dogged spirit and determination to make the country safe for all.
The Speaker commiserated with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Lagbaja family, the people, and government of Osun State over the loss.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Chief of Army Staff.
In his condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, the Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Okezie Kalu expressed deep sadness over the passing of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja.
He described his death as a significant blow to the Nigerian military and commended late Lagbaja’s for his unwavering commitment, strategic vision, and courageous leadership, which greatly contributed to the growth of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Kalu also extended his heartfelt condolences to President Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces, acknowledging the immense loss.
