Federal Executive Council Creates Ministry of Regional Development, Scraps Niger Delta, Sports Development Ministries, Merges Tourism Ministry

President Bola Tinubu and Federal Executive Council (FEC) have scrapped the Ministry of Niger Delta and that of Sports Development.
There will now be a Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission and North East Development Commission.
In a post on the X handle, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, explained that the decisions were taken Wednesday at the meeting of Federal Executive Council in Abuja.
Besides, the National Sports Commission will take over the role of the Ministry of Sports.
According to him, FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
