The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSEIND) has strongly urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The group highlighted Tejusho’s profound contributions to societal well-being and her unwavering dedication to supporting the less privileged.
In an engagement held with MOSEIND, Abuja chapter at the FCT, the Leader of the advocacy group, Abuja, Comrade Andakuro Joy Miebi, described Dr. Tejuosho as a “detribalized socialist with a heart of gold.”
She noted that Dr. Tejuosho is an exemplary daughter of the Niger Delta, whose philanthropic initiatives have made a significant impact on many lives.
Comrade Miebi emphasized that “a tree cannot make a forest,” and as such advocated for united efforts to ensure the prosperity of all ethnic nationalities in the region.
MOSEIND members during the engagement expressed admiration for the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation, which promotes the concept of donating wealth to assist those in need.
This initiative, according to them, underscores Dr. Tejuosho’s commitment to philanthropy and social advancement.
Comrade Andakuro, who called on politicians to follow Dr. Tejuosho’s lead in contributing to societal welfare and fostering development, also underlined the importance of sustained peace in the Niger Delta for the growth and development of the country in general.
In her address, Dr. Tejuosho encouraged MOSEIND members to embrace unity and warned against gossip and backbiting, which she noted could hinder progress.
She solicited for more time to be given to the President Bola Tinubu’s-led administration to enable him address major challenges facing the nation, stressing that the president inherited huge liabilities from past government.
The group pledged to carry the lessons learnt from the engagement to their various communities and expressed their desire for Dr. Tejuosho to continue her impactful work.
The advocacy group also vowed to support Dr. Tejusho’s candidacy for the Humanitarian Affairs position, expressing their firm belief that her appointment would enhance her humanitarian efforts and provide substantial benefits to the government and the people of the Niger Delta.
