Reps to Strengthen Mutually Beneficial Collaboration With Cuba

The House of Representatives has stated that it is poised to further strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation with Cuba which has been existing for a long time for the benefit of both countries.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, House Committee on Nigeria/Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Joshua Chinedu Obika at the inaugural meeting of the Committee on Wednesday.
He said, the formation and inauguration of the Committee was a significant milestone in the history of the bilateral relationship between Cuba and Nigeria.
Rep. Obika said the main aim was to foster closer ties between Nigerian and Cuban parliaments, promote people-to-people diplomacy and explore opportunities for trade, investment and economic collaboration.
The lawmaker who represents AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) added, “The Nigeria/Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group has been built on shared values of solidarity, social justice and commitment to human development. The two countries have collaborated in various areas including healthcare, education and agriculture.
“This Committee will provide a platform for us to explore new avenues of cooperation, share knowledge and learn from each other’s experiences,” he said.
