Era of Administering LGs by Proxy in Jigawa Over – Governor Namadi

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has sworn-in the 27 newly elected chairmen and their deputies with a stern warning that the era of administering local government council’s by proxy is over.
Speaking at Government House Banquet Hall in Dutse, Governor Namadi said government will no longer tolerate any flimpsy excuses, or unnecessary truancy or abscondment from any elected local government chairman.
He stressed that being a custodian of their constituency, the chairmen must stay in their domain and observed the civic responsibility for the overall development of the councils.
Governor Namadi described the occasion as historic as the state is witnessing the swearing-in of Honorable Amina Haruna as elected Deputy Chairperson of Malam-Madori Council.
He implored the chairmen to uphold the fear of God, financial prudence, and committed to the cause of humanity in placing the interest of their community above their personal interest.
Governor Namadi warned them to steer clear on issues of land acquisition, sales nor allocation as government is keen on finances and administration of local councils with utmost desciplined, transparency with zero tolerance to corruption and mortgage of public funds.
