Wike Sent Copters to Monitor Me – Asari Dokubo as Old Video of FCT Minister saying ‘Rivers is Not Lagos’ Resurfaces
A former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike sent helicopters and military to monitor him during the Rivers State local government election.
He made the claim while declaring his support for Governor of Rivers State, Simi Fubara.
According to Dokubo, soldiers sent by the FCT minister, flew over his house during Saturday’s poll.
He appeal to the federal government to call Wike to order, warning that he has the capacity to shoot down the helicopters.
On the local government election, Dokubo said: “Wike’s soldiers and police have been flying over my house with two helicopters. I have the capacity to contain them.
“Nigeria cannot surrender to Wike. Rivers people will not surrender to Wike. I have the capacity to contain them and the government knows that. Let them tell Wike to back off.
“I am 60 years old. I have never been afraid of death. I always embraced death. I didn’t go and look for their helicopter to shoot it down. I will shoot down their helicopter. I swear by Allah.
“Whoever is commanding them should be warned. Enough is enough that Tinubu should hand over. Wike is nobody without the paraphernalia of the office. Let them remove this thing from him and let us see.
Meanwhile, an old video clip that captured Wike kicking against godfather syndrome is currently trending on social media.
In the video, the FCT minister was heard saying that the godfather syndrome affecting some states in Nigeria will not be allowed in Rivers.
He particularly opined that the system of godfatherism may happen in Lagos State but not Rivers.
“It may happen in Lagos State but it cannot happen in Rivers, we are quite different. As a governor, I will come and go and I can’t stop it,” Wike said.
