Edo Guber: Deputy Speaker Kalu Congratulates Sen. Okpebholo, Rep. Idahosa On Victory

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rep. Dennis Idahosa on their victory as Edo State Governor-Elect and Deputy Governor-Elect respectively at the governorship election held on September 21, 2024.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu on Monday, he particularly hailed his colleague, Hon. Dennis Idahosa on his election as Deputy Governor of the State.
Kalu also commended Edo people for returning APC to power in the State saying that the party is consolidating its success in Southern Nigeria.
He urged Okpebholo to show magnanimity in victory and also urged the incoming administration to work for the people of Edo to elevate the current status of the State in line with the Renewed Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Deputy Speaker also commended the electoral umpire, INEC and the security agencies for ensuring that the electoral process ran seamlessly without breakdown of law and order in the State.
It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo and his running mate, Idahosa both of whom ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winners of the Governorship election after polling a total of 291,667 votes to beat Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who scored 247,655 votes and the Labour Party, LP, candidate, Olumide Akpata with 22,763 votes.
