NUJ Presidential Candidate, Alhassan Visits Kano, Seeks Support

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Deputy National President, and presidential candidate, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, has taken his national presidency campaign to Kano State, seeking support and blessings from key stakeholders.
During a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, the candidate expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasised his commitment to advancing journalists’ interests.
According to a press release by Sani Abba Yola, Director of Special Duties, Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Yahya pledged to foster unity, professionalism, and integrity within the union if elected.
He highlighted his experience working with four national presidents and his dedication to promoting journalists’ welfare and strengthening the union’s role in national development.
Responding, the commissioner, Dantiye praised Yahya’s efforts and leadership, calling for a peaceful, fair, and transparent election in the union.
He emphasised the importance of unity and high ethical standards within the NUJ, urging members to prioritise the collective good of the union and the nation.
Yahya was accompanied during the visit by Kano State NUJ Chairman Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Dederi, NAWOJ National Secretary Hajiya Wasila Ladan, and Kano State NAWOJ Chairperson Sayyada Bahijja Kabara.
This visit is part of Yahya’s nationwide campaign to connect with journalists and stakeholders ahead of the NUJ national elections.
