Zamfara Governor, Lawal, Flags Off Construction of 200-Bed Capacity Hospital

In a significant move to revamp the healthcare sector in Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has flagged off the construction of a 200-bed capacity hospital at the Talata Mafara General Hospital.
The project, which includes the provision of advanced medical equipment, is set to be completed within six months.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Lawal expressed his administration’s commitment to investing in the health sector, recognizing the vital role that General Hospitals play in the healthcare delivery system.
He noted that the hospital’s reconstruction and equipping would provide a conducive environment for delivering quality healthcare services to the people.
According to him, the project includes the construction of various facilities such as reception and waiting rooms, pediatric ward, male medical ward, laboratory, theatre, and pharmacy, among others.
The governor added that the hospital will also be equipped with modern equipment, including a mammogram unit, X-ray unit, and ICU.
Former Governor of Old Sokoto State, Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim, who was the special guest of honor at the ceremony, commended Governor Lawal for making the healthcare sector one of his administration’s priorities.
He said this development will bring relief to the people of Talata Mafara and surrounding communities, who have been facing challenges in accessing quality healthcare services.
