Gov. Eno condoles Akwa Ibom APC Chairman over in – law’s demise

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State yesterday, condole the State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Obong Stephen Ntokekpo on the passing of his mother -in – law, late Obonganwan Louisa Ime Ubong at the age of 74 years.
The Governor, who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Prince Hon. Umoh Ekpo was accompanied by top government officials to his official residence at Shelter Afrique, Uyo.
He commiserated with the Chairman and his family by offering words of comfort and support.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved mother-in-law.
“My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
“Today, we put aside our differences to stand together as humans, and as Akwa Ibomites”, said Governor Eno who further emphasized, “we share in your grief and pray for the soul of the departed to rest in peace”.
The APC State Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo while responding, thanked the Governor for his kindness saying that, “this visit is a testament to your leadership and commitment to unity.
“Your presence brings comfort to my family and my self. Your Excellency, this visit has sent a powerful message that, despite our differences, we can come together as one people”.
Those in the retinue during the visit were; member representing Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Patrick Umoh, APC Chairman Lagos State and Acting Chairman, Forum of APC Chairmen in Nigeria; Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, APC Chairman, Cross River State and National Secretary, Forum of APC State Chairmen in Nigeria; Hon. Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq.
Others include; APC State Chairman Kwara State and National Vice Chairman North Central, Forum of APC chairmen in Nigeria; Prince Sunday Fagbemi, APC chairman Taraba State and National Vice Chairman, North East Forum of APC chairmen in Nigeria; Barr. Ibrahim El – Sudi, Chairman of Committee of Chairmen, Federal Colleges Education and Chairman, Governing Council of Federal College of Education, Kontagora, amongst others.
The bereaved family in their statement made available to the media showed that, the funeral arrangement began since on Monday with the opening of mourning house, while visitations by family members, friends and associates continued till yesterday Thursday September 5, 2024 when the vigil Mass also held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Afaha Oku (Ikpa Road), Uyo.
Funeral Mass is holding today Friday September 6, 2024 at Cardinal Ekanem Seminary Grounds, Dominic Utuk Avenue, Uyo by 10am, as the APC boss invites friends, colleagues, sympathizers and well Wishers to join him bid farewell to the mother inlaw.
Meanwhile, the Grand President of the Noble Order of the Knights of Saint John International (KSJI), Brigadier -General Samuel Umohandikan also a son – in – law to the deceased, is leading the entire Grand Knights and Laux to the funeral.
Sir Umohandikan, appreciates all the Knights and Laux for their solidarity and presence at the the funeral and for honouring the deceased mother – In- law.
