Speaker Abbas Mourns Late Ex-president Yar’adua’s Mother

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has mourned the death of the mother of late former president, Umaru Musa Yar’adua describing it as a sad development.
The Speaker, in a condolence statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, on Tuesday in Abuja, said the late Hajiya Dada would be sorely missed.
Hajiya Dada, who was also the mother of late General Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’adua, among others, passed away on Monday at the age of 102.
Speaker Abbas recalled the motherly role the late Hajiya Dada played in the lives of many Nigerians, not just her biological children, noting that she lived a life worthy of emulation.
The Speaker, who attended the funeral prayer of the late Hajiya Dada alongside the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, prayed to Allah to have mercy on her soul and reward her with Jannatul Firdaus.
After the funeral prayer, held at the Katsina township stadium, close to the Yar’adua family residence, the remains of the late Hajiya Dada was interred at the Danmarna Cemetery in Katsina metropolis.
Speaker Abbas sent his heartfelt condolences to the Yar’adua family, the people, and the government of Katsina State over the loss.
