The Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, has announced that the Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu led administration will continue to invest in the state’s media outlets, Kebbi Television and Kebbi Radio.
This commitment was underscored during at a brief ceremony to hand over new state-of-the-art equipment procured for Kebbi Television.
The handover took place at the Ministry of Information’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Alhaji Yakubu revealed that this marks the first time since the state’s establishment in 1991 that such advanced equipment have been procured for Kebbi Television.
He commended Governor Nasir Idris for his dedication to improve state infrastructure to drive the economy and filling the longstanding infrastructure deficit in state owned media outlets.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of leveraging the new technology to effectively promote and broadcast the Governor’s policies, programs, and accomplishments.
Earlier, while presenting the equipment, General Manager of Kebbi Television, Alhaji Aminu Sani Kamba, reflected on Governor Nasir Idris’s recent visit to the station, where he pledged to enhance its operations with cutting-edge technology.
Aminu Kamba highlighted that the new 4K cameras and associated gear are the first of their kind for the station, marking a significant upgrade for Kebbi television service since establishment.
He expressed his gratitude to the Governor for fulfilling this promise and assured that Kebbi Television will use the new equipment to deliver comprehensive coverage of government initiatives and achievements, further solidifying its role in the state’s media landscape.
It would be recalled that a similar gesture was yesterday extended to the Kebbi state Radio Corporation. The station too got long required equipment from the state government to upgrade its operations and enhance its reach.
