Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has commended the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation for its significant contribution to improving the livelihood of 1000 households in Kebbi State.
Comrade Nasir Idris made the commendation at the flagging off of distribution of food items to people living with Leprosy at Amanawa near, Kalgo, on Thursday.
The Governor acknowledged that the Tulsi Foundation has become a household name in Kebbi State.
‘Tulsi Foundation began with eye treatment about 20 years ago. In our view, this foundation has truly delivered. People come from as far as Niger and Benin Republics to receive eye surgery. The foundation has since expanded its efforts to include other beneficial activities for our people, such as the provision of water and food supplies,” he stated.
Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of its people, which is why the state has prioritized distributing fertilizer free to boost food production across Kebbi State.
He assured that the Kebbi State Government and its people would never forget the foundation’s efforts and urged the beneficiaries to use the items wisely and continue to pray for the foundation’s continued success.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, said: “This administration is committed to improving the livelihood of our people, which was the reason we have welcomed the Tulsi Foundation’s support in this community’.
The Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Muhammad Bello Yakubu-Rilisco, expressed satisfaction about the foundation’s activities, noting that food would be distributed to 1,000 households across six local government areas in Kebbi.
He reminded the people of the importance of coming out in large numbers to vote for the APC in the forthcoming local government elections, slated for August 31, 2024.
Dr. Shravan Kumar-Kasam, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tulsi Foundation, praised Governor Idris for his efforts to transform the state.
He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to continuing its support to the people of Kebbi, which has spanned over two decades.
The food items distributed include 50kg of rice, 10kg of maize, 10kg of millet, 10kg of sorghum and one gallon of cooking oil to each beneficiary.
