Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has received over 100 members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and some major stakeholders of the party.
Prominent among those who decamped on Friday were Alhaji Faruku Ajala, Alhaji Bala Gradee, Hon. Garba Hassan Wara, Hon. Bello Shehu Kasaura, Alhaji Umar Yaro Gari and Hon. Umaru Kambaza
The Governor who expressed happiness over the development while receiving the decampees at Government House Birnin Kebbi, assured them of equal opportunity and treatment.
He also assured decampees of justice and fairness in all political ramifications.
Idris said his administration was willing to work harmoniously to ensure quality service to people as well as maintain accountability in its dealings.
“You are living witnesses of yhe ongoing execution of projects across the state. Iam always ready to join hands ‘Insha- Allah’ with all the stakeholders to make Kebbi great,” he assured.
Idris said the recent defection to APC would surely add more impetus to the party, particularly with the local government elections that was around the corner.
‘ Be committed to the ideals and policies of the APC party ‘, he said.
The APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru who was also elated with the development, assured the new members of fair treatment in APC.
The Chairman appreciated the decampees for what he described as ‘a wise decision’, saying, ” We are not going to leave you behind, the incumbent administration is doing alot to better the lives of people of the state as you are aware .
‘ APC remained a party for all, we will do justice to all in line with principles of fair play, our Governor has touched the lives of the people irrespective of party affiliation’ he said .
The former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and a one of the PDP stakeholders in Bunza Local Government who spoke on behalf of the decampee, Hon. Sani Bunza said they took a good decision in the intrest of their good people and the state in general.
He averred ” The incumbent administration has brought a lot of changes in the state .
“This administration under the able leadership of His Excellency, Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris must be commended for the various achievements recorded in the state in one year’.
“We defected to APC from PDP because changes and infrastructural development in the state . Kebbi is for all of us, we must support Governor Nasir Idris to do more for the state’, he said.
