The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen and his Deputy, Benjamin Kalu have expressed their sadness and shock over the death of the Senator representing Anambra South, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
They conveyed their condolences in two separate condolence messages on Saturday describing the death of the late Senator who died in London as a great loss to the nation.
In his condolence message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker stated that, Senator Ubah was one of the pillars of the ruling APC in the South-East geopolitical zone.
He described him as a dedicated lawmaker, successful businessman and great philanthropist.
According to the Speaker, that, late Senator Ubah recently donated funds supporting the APC in Anambra State and celebrated the creation of the South East Development Commission a few days ago.
He extended his condolences to the Ubah family, people, and government of Anambra State, and the Senate for the “huge loss and prayed to God to grant Senator Ubah eternal rest.
The Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu in his condolence message signed by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu described the late lawmaker as a patriot and philanthropist, who made remarkable strides in the parliament, media, sports and petroleum downstream industry.
He said late Ubah has determination to bring about a change in the fortunes of the people of his zone and the entire nation.
Kalu noted that late Ubah has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and through his Company Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Nnewi, Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, The Authority newspaper as well as other numerous businesses provided through which he provided employments for many Nigerians.
The Deputy Speaker described the Senator’s death is a great loss to Ndigbo, and Nigeria as a whole, stressing that he will be sorely missed.
He condoling his immediate family, the All Progressive Congress (APC), People of Nnewi and Anambra State Government over the irreparable loss.
Kalu also prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest
