Sule- Tankarkar immunize 153,239 household’s against CSM outbreak

No fewer than 153,239 households were immunized against the dreaded illness of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis, (CSM) during the six days CSM Vaccination Exercise conducted by Sule- Tankarkar PHC Health Officials, the Council’s PHC Manager, Mal. Usman Sule- Tankarkar has disclosed.
Briefing media team on Monitoring CSM Vaccination in the area, Mal. Usman further said we have received 890 doses of CSM Vaccination from the Jigawa State Ministry of Health for this purpose expected to vaccinate 153,239 Sule Tankarkar Community with age barrier’s ranging from 1-29 years of age.
According to him despite hiccups here and there with regard to late arrival of vaccination kids, from the state Ministry of Health, couple with poor logistics on the side of officials of Sule-Tankarkar Council, we were able to breakthrough with the least logistics we have received from the Ministries of Health and the Local government.
The PHC Manager who attribute the success of the exercise on advocacy, public enlightenment with the support of traditional, community leader’s as well staffers of PHC workers, and cooperation of Sule- Tankarkar Community.
” I am pleased to inform you that we haven’t record any loss of lives from the emergence of CSM outbreak in our domain up to the time of the six days immunization exercise, stressed the exercise went on smoothly through active advocacy, community mobilization, and awareness on the importance of CSM Vaccination as part of preventive measures against killer diseases to health development.”
Similarly I count on the efforts of 86 member supporting staff, Six people per group which comprise of 2 vaccinators, 2 recorders, 1 town announcer, and 1 crowd controller.
Apart from that we also have the participation of two house to house female’s mobilizer on whose work was to assist the town crier in mobilizing woman folks, and adolescent girls to be vaccinated.
Earlier the Sule- Tankarkar Local Government Council Chairman, Alh. Sale Ahmed Danzomo attribute the outbreak of CSM menace in his council to the influx of aliens from neighbouring Niger Republic as the council is boarded with Niger Republic.
“When we were told of CSM outbreak, we quickly swing into action through provision of preventive measures such as supporting our health units with emergency aids in form of provision of adequate medication, among other logistics as we do equip our health department with monthly or quarterly medical needs.”
Recalled that Sule- Tankarkar Local Government Council was amongst the Six council’s namely Babura, Gumel, Gagarawa, Maigatari, and Ringim that were engulf by Cerebro Spinal Meningitis, CSM early last month in Jigawa state, situation which prompted the attention and engagement of the Officials of the State Ministry of Health to swing into action in rendering prompt medical services to contain.
