Our Priorities Are Not Limited To Release Of Prisoners, But To Stop Israel’s Aggression, Bring In Aid-Hamas Leader
…Accuses US, Israel Of undermining Mediation Efforts
Hamas leader, Hussam Badran has said that, the priorities of the resistance are not limited to the release of prisoners, but to stop the Israel’s aggression, bring in aid and the return of the displaced Palestinians as well as a clear reconstruction plan of the destroyed Gaza enclave and other places attacked by Israel in the last six months.
Middle East Monitor quoted the Hamas leader speaking on Monday, March 15 on the failure of efforts to reach agreement due to alleged sabotage of mediation by the US and Israel.
He said, “The American position cannot be considered a mediator, but rather it is a basic, political and military partner in supporting the occupation. The American administration is a primary reason for the disruption of any agreement.
“We exercise our legitimate right to resist the occupation, and Netanyahu’s statements regarding reaching Sinwar do not concern us.
“We will confront this occupation until we achieve complete independence, and this is our right as Palestinians guaranteed by all international laws.
“We negotiate on behalf of our Palestinian people and do not address any matters related to Hamas leaders”.
Badran said, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu must be honest with his people about the real losses, the number of deaths and the failed political goals.
According to him, the Palestinian resistance was able to expose the falsehood about Israel’s occupation in the face of the ongoing crimes against his people.
He added, “Netanyahu does not want to reach any agreement and deceives his people and the families of the captives to cover up his political and security failure.
“The issue is not related to the prisoners and their numbers. Rather, the problem is that the occupation refuses to give any guarantees to the mediators on the basic issues in the lives of people in Gaza.
“The [negotiating] papers of the accompanying delegation are strong, with the steadfastness of our people and our resistance on the ground and the continued international pressure on Netanyahu and his government, which puts him in a weak position.
“We practice resistance, political and negotiating efforts to reach a clear and specific goal we have related to the needs and requirements of our people in general and Gaza in particular”.
