The 3, 500 capacity newly built Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi ‘Juma’at Mosque’ is ready for commissioning on Friday March 8th, 2024.
A Bauchi based charity organisation ‘Wunti Al-khair Foundation’ constructed the new mosque for the renowned international islamic preacher at Makera area in the Bauchi metropolis.
Our correspondent reports that dignitaries from within and outside the country including Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State are billed to attend the formal Inauguration of the new mosque on Friday where Friday prayer will be observed immediately after the ceremony.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, the project coordinator Rabiu Maijama’a Wunti and the project manager Abdulrazak Mohammed Wunti explained that aside the Mosque, an islamic centre tagged ‘Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Centre’ that houses islamic school with 18 classes and a conference hall built around the Mosque would also be unveiled.
They added that apart from the inner Mosque that has 3,500 capacity, its outer part otherwise called “Haraba” (Premises) can carry additional 3,000 worshippers.
Also speaking, the representative of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Sheikh Tijjani Dahiru lauded the sponsors of the project for building ‘such a magnificent Mosque and centre for the islamic cleric in the heart of the town.
Governor Bala Mohammed flanked by his deputy Auwal Jatau, speaker of the state house of assembly Suleiman Abubakar and other top government officials who inspected the Mosque hailed the Sheikh for inculcating Qur’anic knowledge to many people in and out of the state and the foundation for honouring the cleric by constructing the edifice.
He equally commended the contractors for qualify project.
