FERMA Inspects Roads Project In North East II

The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has inspected the road maintenance projects it executed in North East II region which comprises of Bauchi, Gombe and Adamawa under its special intervention called “Operation Connect Your Destination”.
The Operation Connect Your Destination is a special intervention on maintenance and repairs of all federal roads in the country being executed by the agency under direct labour at the end of the year.
Speaking to journalists shortly after inspecting some of the repaired roads in Gombe, the leader of the FERMA delegation Mansur Hamma-Adama explained that the intervention is aimed at improving the quality of roads to all road’s users across the federation.
He noted that the team inspects rehabilitation of a Network of roads in Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone and another along Numan – Mayolope road.
According to him, the work done includes potholes patching and repairs of failed sections between KM10+000 to KM15+000, with a total of 5KM of roads recovered.
The inspection team continued their journey with a stop in Gombe, and proceeded to inspect the ongoing work on Potiskum road.
The leader of the team expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work adding that regardless of the challenges, the field office was able to deliver their work excellently.
“The agency initiates the programme in line with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope agenda as regard to road maintenance in order to promote economic wellbeing of Nigerians.
“The agency remains committed to delivering good and quality roads for better travel experience to all commuters, and also connecting people to their destination.
Our correspondent reports that the work on the road includes cutting and patching of potholes with a total of 3KM of roads recovered.”, he said.
The team also inspected the work done in Bauchi field office on KM24+860 to KM32+450 along Bauchi-Jos Road, the work done on the site include cutting and patching of potholes with a total of 8KM of roads recovered.
Also speaking, the Acting Zonal Director of FERMA North-East II, Engineer Irikefe-Eugene Baror, lauded the handlers of the project saying the work was standard and timely.
He called on road users to make good use of the roads by avoiding reckless driving and things capable of spoiling roads.
