Some residents of Kaduna state within the metropolis who were affected by flooding at early hours of today have been displaced. This followed the heavy downpour that lasted for hours.
The affected communities visited by Daylight Reporters include: Kabala Costain, Ramat road; Ungwar Rimi, Kigo road, all within the Kaduna metropolis.
It was also gathered that some residents were trapped and they were being rescued by the combined team of Nigerian Red Cross, Kaduna Fire Service.
Other agencies spotted at the scene of the flood include the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) and the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency ( SEMA) during the rescue mission.
Amongst those rescued were children, women and domestic animals.
At the scene, it was observed that affected residents were seeing carrying their moveable properties with the help of the men of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who were there to maintain law and order.
The residents of the affected communities, while speaking to our reporter called on Kaduna state government to come to their aid.
A resident of Kabala Costain, Henry Akaps, said, the flooding in the area and in some other parts of the affected communities is a recurring decimal.
Although, Akaps who has lived in the area for over 20 years explained that it is not the downpour that caused the flooding but could be as a result of water coming from the dam.
