How NIGCOMSAT Contributes To Nigeria’s Digitalisation, Internal Revenue-MD

The managing director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Mrs Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen has asserted that her organisation has contributed immensely to the digitalisation of the nation and its Internally Generated Revenues (IGR).
Mrs Jane made the assertion on Tuesday when she visited the regional office of the NIGCOMSAT in Gombe State as part of efforts to create awareness on the activities of the organisation and seek partnerships.
She said the Nigerian Commissions Satellite was established with the mandate of fostering the growth of broadcasting industry in order to realise maximum revenue as well as giving Nigerians accces to digital communications.
According to her, the satellite operator also attracts foreign direct investments into Nigeria even as it added that 19 per cent of the country’s revenue comes from the communications sector.
“Technology is the engine of every economy and NIGCOMSAT is now better positioned than ever to provide the nation with reliable internet services that will stimulate innovation and other advancements in the technology industry.
“We are counting on the media, industry players and schools to explore partnership opportunities with NIGCOMSAT as it is crucial for facilitating technological access and fostering sustainable economic growth at all levels of the country.”, she said
